Mihwar on your phone

Mihwar is made for the phone in a cook’s hand: big buttons, the camera for photos, Arabic or English, and your checklist answers kept safe when the signal drops. There is nothing to download from a store — you add Mihwar to your home screen from the browser, and it opens like an app.

Adding Mihwar to your home screen

  • Android (Chrome) — crew find the card Put Mihwar on your home screen on their branch’s home screen, with the button Add to home screen. Supervisors, managers and anyone without the card open the browser menu (⋮) and choose “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”.
  • iPhone (Safari) — tap Share, then “Add to Home Screen”. Open Mihwar from that icon from then on: phone notifications on an iPhone work only that way.

The icon opens today’s checklists. Press and hold it for shortcuts: Today's checklists, Report a fault, Review queue and Documents.

Finding your way around

  • Your home — branch people land on their branch’s home: today’s checklist runs, your shifts, what waits for you to sign, labels waiting to print, and the faults and follow-ups that are yours. The warehouse lands on the warehouse’s home, a driver on their deliveries.
  • The bar at the bottom — your apps, and More for everything else: your name, your language, Settings and signing out.
  • Photos — a step that asks for a photo opens the camera; photos are made smaller before they are sent.

Arabic or English

Tap More, then your name, and choose the language. The whole app turns around for Arabic. Numbers are always written 0–9, and dates follow your organization’s calendar — Gregorian, Hijri or both. Your choice is kept for your account, on every device. More in Your account.

Notifications on your phone

Your phone can tell you about your own work even when Mihwar is closed — a run due, a shift about to start, a fault given to you. Turn it on once on each phone: see Alerts.

Working without a signal

Kitchens and cold rooms often have no signal. Here is what keeps working:

  • Checklist runs — every answer is saved on the phone first. With no signal you see You're offline — your work is saved on this device and will sync when you reconnect. and how many answers wait to be sent; they go by themselves when the signal is back. A critical step that fails offline opens its follow-up when it arrives.
  • Inspections — answers, notes and photos wait on the phone, marked On this device — it syncs when you are back online.
  • Warehouse picking — the bulk pick starts from the list already on the screen and is sent when the signal is back.
  • Reporting a fault — from Mihwar, the report is kept on the phone and sent once, when the signal is back. From a QR sticker nothing is sent without a signal: the form keeps what you typed, so press Send report again when the signal is back.

These need a signal: signing in, starting an inspection, submitting or signing it, signing a run off, a step that needs a procedure signed first or a colleague’s PIN, sending a branch’s order (the basket keeps your quantities on the phone for three days), and anything in Settings or Organization. Nothing else is saved for later either: clocking in or out, signing a document, printing a label, the steps on a work order and everything in Follow-ups and Scheduling need a signal too.

A branch’s shared tablet

  • The clock-in screen — a manager can make a tablet the branch’s clock-in screen, where each person taps their name and types their PIN (Scheduling).
  • Printing labels — a phone or tablet can print the branch’s labels with its own print dialog, or to a Bluetooth label printer (Labels).

Questions

I can’t see “Add to home screen”.

Open the browser’s own menu (⋮ in Chrome, Share in Safari) and look for “Add to Home screen”, “Install app” or “Add to Home Screen”. Some browsers don’t offer it — use Chrome on Android and Safari on an iPhone.

My answers haven’t gone through.

Open Mihwar where there is a signal and leave it open a moment: waiting answers go by themselves, and the count goes to zero. If it asks you to sign in again, do — your answers wait for you.

The app looks different after an update.

Close Mihwar and open it again, or pull down to reload: the newest version loads.
